Telehealth Services has experienced many new changes and plans to add new programs over the past year, including TeleAudiology, TeleWound and Rural Health located at the Iowa Veterans Home. Telehealth Service is also expanding and building on already existing programs to improve access to our Veterans and improve services provided by Telehealth.
With Telehealth Leadership guidance and approval, Telehealth has implemented a best practice in identifying successes, as well as barriers associated with implementing or improving upon any new or existing programs. These staff members have gone above and beyond in meeting weekly and adding meetings over their lunch breaks to make sure all information has been gathered, and any tasks completed, to move forward with implementing or improving any and all programs within Telehealth Services. This may include organizing meetings with stakeholders or developing a training process for all staff effected, assuring that the Veteran and the technician conducting the visit have everything needed for a successful visit. This group has devoted themselves to assuring all pieces are in place, and all stakeholders have provided input, prior to elevating any new programs to Leadership within VA Central Iowa. They have all committed to making Telehealth Services the very best it can be for those we serve.
These staff have volunteered to be a part of this committee and have added additional duties to their work day while making Veteran care the priority. They are committed to implementing programs that will have the best outcome for those we serve. Veterans have expressed their satisfaction with the care they are able to receive remotely, without traveling long distances for care. This would not be possible without Telehealth staff working so hard to make virtual programs successful.
These staff have committed to this extra committee, to build on a foundation of excellence already established by VA Central Iowa Leadership. They have committed to improving the care and expanding the services available to our Veterans throughout the healthcare system utilizing up to date resources and equipment. I am so proud to be a part of this exceptional team providing exceptional care to our nations heroes.
