About the Program

The VA Central Iowa pharmacy processes many prescriptions daily. Many of these prescriptions are filled by the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Program (CMOP). Prescriptions may be refilled by phone, mail, or the Internet.

Services Offered

Automated Refill Line

An automated refill line is available for all VA Central Iowa patients 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. Please call the following number:

If you are using the automated refill line, all refills should be ordered at least fourteen days prior to when the refill is due to insure prompt processing and delivery time.

Internet Refill

Prescriptions may also be filled online using VA's My HealtheVet program. You will need a user id and password to log in. If you do not have one, you can easily get one by creating your personal profile.

Refills by Mail

Mail in your refill prescription receipt or write you name, last four of your social security number and the name of the medication(s) on a slip of paper and send to the VA Central Iowa Pharmacy, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310.

Outpatient Pharmacy

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Inpatient Pharmacy (inpatient hospitalized veterans only)

Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
and Saturday/Sunday/Holidays 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pharmacy Administration Office

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

All of the above services, except for the inpatient pharmacy and the automated refill line, are closed on all federal holidays.
